Kids Rein is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that promotes the use of the horse for individuals with physical, emotional, and learning disabilities. We are proud to be a Center Member of PATH (Professional Association of Therapeutic Horsemanship, Int’l).
We offer a unique therapeutic horseback riding experience for individuals with varying disabilities. Kids Rein specializes in early intervention techniques and offers Therapeutic Riding for children as young as 3 years old. We also offer Therapeutic Horseback Riding for adults with disabilities!!
Through the many years of working with different teaching methodologies and techniques, Founders Teressa and Phyllis have discovered various ways of working with children with different disabilities. They are proud that Kids Rein is able to reach out and make a difference in the lives of children and adults with special needs – all on the back of a horse!
Kids Rein is located at the Latta Equestrian Center, 6201 Sample Road in Huntersville, North Carolina.
Fall Opening: We will open for our Fall Riding Season on Saturday October 24th. We will be holding Volunteer Orientation the week before on Saturday October 17th at 10am.
Kids Rein is excited to announce that we received a grant from the UNC Charlotte Levine Scholars Program for $7,591!!! This grant has enabled us to make significant changes and updates to our arena. This includes redoing the base layers, drainage, and fencing! We are expecting to have it finished by March 21st 2015, just in time for our Spring Season!!! We also want to send a huge thank you to Annika, our former UNC Charlotte intern, for making this happen. We cannot even begin to express our gratitude.
